The American Conservatives, a conservative blog founded by the late conservative radio host Erick Erickson, is considering a move to Amazon.com after being sold to Hearst Corp. for $350 million.
The move to the e-commerce site, a rival to Amazon, would make The American a bigger player in the online advertising marketplace, analysts say.
The conservative news site will continue to publish material on a monthly basis on the company’s platform, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
The company declined to comment on the sale.
The American has a staff of 25.
The blog’s founder, Erick Garza, died in January.
The group also publishes an opinion column, “What You Need to Know About the GOP,” a weekly column, that has been picked up by Fox News, The New York Times and The Wall St. Journal.
It is a weekly podcast.
The site also hosts a political blog, “The Conservative Tribune,” and is owned by the conservative media conglomerate Advance Publications.
Garza founded the site in 1996, but its content has grown in popularity.
It has a following of about 12,000 readers, a high for an online political publication.
